Maths
File → Maths
Maths create extra channels from the live telemetry stream. EmStream uses the same emexpr language as Display Studio and EmVision. Expressions update while you are connected, including after a reconnect.
The expression syntax, operators, and function libraries are documented in Math Functions. On the display, evaluation is Continuous or On Event. In EmStream the same expressions run against the incoming samples.
What you can use
- Log and telemetry channels by name
- Other maths channels as inputs (up to 16)
- Constants such as weight or a spring rate
- Binary and hex integers (
0b,0x) - A named state, inserted as its numeric value, when the channel has named states
A maths channel that writes to a user channel keeps that channel’s units, colour, and display range, and shows a live value in the Live Data drawer and on gauges.
Editor
Work is organised into groups and expressions, the same layout as Display Studio.
- Open File → Maths.
- Add a group, then an expression.
- Name the expression and write the formula.
- The editor compiles as you type. A warning marks a group or expression that does not compile.
Cut, copy, paste, and delete work on groups and expressions.
Sharing
- File → Export Setup Pack / Import Setup Pack stores maths together with user channels and tables in an
.emmtcfile. EmVision opens the same file. See Configuration. - File → Save Config stores maths inside the full EmStream configuration (
.emsc).
