User Channels

File → User Channels

User channels are names, units, and colours stored on this PC. Use them when a maths expression or a table needs an output that is not already in the telemetry stream.

They are not written back to the display. Channels created in Display Studio under Setup → User Channels are part of the vehicle configuration. See User Channels (Display Studio).

Create a channel

  1. Open File → User Channels.
  2. On the Channels tab, click Add Channel.
  3. Set Name, Units, and Colour.

The Events tab adds named events for markers.

A maths expression that writes to a user channel keeps that channel’s units, colour, and display range, and the live value shows in the data drawer.

User channels travel with maths and tables in an .emmtc setup pack, and they are stored in an .emsc configuration. See Configuration.
