View Layouts

View → Layout and View → Window Count

Each EmStream window is a set of panes. Choose how many panes the window has, then choose what each pane shows.

Window layout

LayoutPanes
SingleOne pane
Vertical SplitTwo panes side by side
Horizontal SplitTwo panes, one above the other
Three PanelsOne pane on the left, two stacked on the right
Four PanelsA two-by-two grid

Drag a divider to resize panes. Divider positions are remembered.

Pane type

Hover the bottom-left corner of a pane and pick a type:

TypeShows
GridNumerical channel cells — see Data Grid
PlotsScrolling time plots — see Live Plots
TrackLive GPS position — see Track Map
GaugesFree-form gauges — see Gauges

Each pane keeps its own type. A vertical split can show the track map beside a data grid, or plots above gauges, without a separate combined layout.

Several windows

View → Window Count opens 1 to 4 EmStream windows. Each window has its own layout and pane types. All windows share the same telemetry connection.

Broadcast mode

View → Broadcast Mode (or F11) fills the screen and hides the menu bar and the live-data drawer. Use it for a pit-wall display. Press Esc to leave broadcast mode. The window and drawer return to how they were.

Track files

Track outlines are set from the View menu and apply to Track panes:

ItemFile
Set Track File.geojson track outline
Set GPX File.gpx waypoints or a route
Connect WaypointsDraw lines between GPX waypoints

Loading a GeoJSON file clears a GPX file, and loading a GPX file clears the GeoJSON. See Track Map.
